Pain on inside of heel

I have had a problem with a pain on the inside of my heel for about 4 years. Looking through the web the nearest symptom I have is Apophysitis Calcanei, but further information reveals that this affects 8-15 year olds, at 48 this is unlikely. It seems to be associated with the achilles and certainly running on it for more about a mile will bring on tenderness just at the side of the heel, I think it is where the achilles attaches to the heel bone (but not certain). Having spent a fair bit of cash at the physio, to no avail, I am reluctant to visit another physio, at least not without a lot more information about what it could be. I have tried ice, stretching and rest.
Can anyone help
