midcarpal subluxation

(3 discussions)

In a karate tournament, I injured my hand/wrist while punching. After x rays and examination, Doctor diagnosed torn or damaged ligaments at the carpal level. It has been now 3 months and I still have instability in the wrist and pain. My wrist will clunk and click from time to time. My questions are the following: 1. Can an instability in the wrist go away with time? or is surgery always needed. 2. How long does it take for arthritis to settle in. BTW, I am 33 years old, perfect health.

Burning feet during the night and sensitive toes.

(3 discussions)

During the day, I do not have any unusual pain in my feet. During the night, I awake often with burning feet and pain in my toes.
I am 76 years old.
I ruptured my Achilles tendon about 8 years ago playing tennis and have osteoarthritis in my back as well as sciatica on my left side. Could the foot pain be caused from the back pain?
It seems to be worse on the side with the sciatica.
I can’t walk much due to the back pain.

ruptured Achilles tendon

(2 discussions)

I am a 63 year old male, active, good physical condition.
I totally ruptured my Achilles – had surgery on 9/18. I was in a splint for 2 weeks then a cast for 4 weeks, have just had 4 weeks of therapy.
The doctor released me from the walking boot and crutches one week ago — but, I am still using crutches to lessen the pain and swelling.
I’ve had the pain and swelling for 11 weeks.
When can I expect the pain and swelling to get better?
What can I do to improve the pain and swelling situation? My foot now is almost to the flat level position – I am doing exercises 2-3 times a day and try to walk some without my crutches. Any advice you have regarding home therapy, activity, etc. will be appreciated! Thanks.
