Knee Pain Muscle Imbalance – hamstring popping

I’m a runner struggling w/an ongoing knee problem. The muscles of my inner thigh especially right above the knee are weaker than the outer muscles. My patella is getting pulled off track by the stronger muscles. I’m going to therapy, but we’re having a hard time coming up w/exercises to isolate the muscle right above the knee on the inside of the leg. Does anyone have any suggested exercises that might help? (Or any other advice?)

Also on the back of the same knee, my hamstring tendon is popping like mad everytime I straighten my leg. It doesn’t hurt, but sounds terrible and is probably affecting the patella problem. My therapist has no idea what it is or what to do about it. Any ideas?

Thanks!
