Planters Wart

I’ve got some black planters warts.
I’ve tried the salicylic acid OTC treatments, and while they originally appear to have worked (killed all the skin, peeled off in a whitish disk like manner, all visable black wart removed), it’s subsequently re-emerged.
It’s now a calloused area that goes through a cycle of filling up with scar tissue, then breaking off when there’s lot of physical activity.
It’s also filled with numerous black wart heads again, and painful.
What’s the suggestion for taking care of these things?
I had one removed by a Dr. a number of years ago, and while the wart did indeed go away, the resultant scar tissue’s as painful to walk on as the wart was, and it’s not going away either.
Bit of a rock and hard place issue..
Thanks for any insight..

Hyper extended elbow

(2 discussions)

My 15-yr-old daughter was tumbling and completed a front handspring front fly front punch and heard nher right elbow “pop”. Her coach thinks she hyper extended her elbow. 6 days later it’s still not swollen or bruised, just a little tender. Is there any therapy/treatment for this other than resting the elbow, with no weight-bearing activity?

Sprained Ankle??

I’m a 17 years old and I have recently sprained my ankle. I went to the hospital to have it x-rayed to make sure it was not broken and after a long wait the doctor told me it wasn’t broken and it was just a sprain and to come back in a week if it got worse. My problem is that I have had sprains before, and never has it been like this. I have to put all my weight on the inside edge of my foot because straight down or on the outside especially, results in a rolling of somthing in my ankle as well as a sharp cracking or popping sensation. I have never had a sprain crack and pop before and just the idea that it can still happen a good two weeks after the fact is unnerving because everytime it happens it hurts quite a bit. The pain has lessened over these two weeks and I realize bad sprains can often take much longer to heal. The sensitive parts of my foot seem to correspond remarkably well to a picture of the ligaments in a foot I found. The anterior talo-fibular ligament, calcaneo-fibular ligament, and posterior talo-fibular ligament all seem to be the sore places. Basically what I would like to know is A) What is cracking/popping? B) Does this normally happen with bad ankle sprains? C) Will it stop/What can I do to help make it stop. D) Will I need an ankle brace for sports form now on?

pain in the ankle:(

(3 discussions)

Back in September I broke my ankle (spiral to the fibula about 6″ above the ankle joint and a fracture to the medial malleolus) To summarize: Was put in cast for 5 weeks (since the breaks were in pretty good alignment), then air boot for 5 weeks, and then an air splint and PT.
I work in the travel industry and am on my feet a lot, so my initial treatment was in AK and at 7 weeks I moved and followed up with a new Ortho in TX.
The new Dr said he would have definitely suggested surgery to fix the breaks, but the conservative method seems to be working but taking longer to heal.
I am still having major pain especially all around the medial malleolus when I turn my ankle, mainly when I turn it outward there is sharp pain. There is still light bruising, and no noticeable swelling, I’m about 16 weeks now.
I do remember that when the original cast/splint from the ER was taken off in the office, the inside of my ankle had a huge knot and was very bruised.
PT has helped with my range of motion, but not with the pain.
Now I am starting to have pain on the outside of my ankle and around the back.
I can walk on it for short distances with usually no pain (unless I turn it “wrong”).
My Ortho decided to put me on anti-inflammatory and forgo the PT to see if that would help for a couple of weeks.
It isn’t helping.
He mentioned getting a CT.
I think he thinks my medial malleolus isn’t healing, but I feel like it has do to with ligaments or something like that.
He did do stress x-rays last visit, but they didn’t seem to show anything.
Anyways, I called to see if we could go ahead and get the CT set up before my next appointment and he said I could, but he suggests to wait until next appt. (in a week) so we can discuss . . . who knows what.
Do you have any possible answers of what the problem could be, or questions that I can ask him.
I also made an appointment with a DPM next week for a . . . 3rd opinion.
I am really getting annoyed by all this.
I’ve put work on hold so I can get this taken care of.
I realize ankle injuries can take a very long time to heal, but I can only “not work” for so long.
Any help or answers would be greatly appreciated!!

Fifth Metatarsal Fracture

(2 discussions)

I was just diagnosed with a fracture in my fifth metatarsal.
I am in severe pain and I was told to not weight bear.
I am having trouble using crutches, and am wondering how serious or damaging it would be to walk on my heal which does not feel so painful.
Also all they put me in was an ace bandage and they said on Monday or Tuesday come back for a boot.
Is this the normal treatment for this type of fracture?
Thanks

Ruptured bursa

My husband has been diagnosed with a ruptured bursa sac beneath his scapula.
It is very painful, and he has been told that there is nothing that can be done for it.
He is going to try physical therapy, but it didn’t sound very promising. Do you know of anything that can be done to at least alleviate the pain (besides narcotics) or even correct the problem?

breast reduction and firming excersices

(7 discussions)

I am 46 years old and my breasts have always been large.
However, after having three children they began to “fall”.
Surgery is not an option for me, since I simpley do not have the money to pay for it.
I am praying that I can somehow use excersice to not only “reduce” them by (1) cup size, but also lift and firm them at the same time?
If there is anything I can do to help myself, I would appreciate any advice you may have for me to try? Thank you for your time and patients………Sincerely, rose
