Sonocur Treatment??

(4 discussions)

I’m an avid runner and do some weight training.I’ve been doing this for 30 years and now my knees and elbows are painful most all the time.

Prednisone works great for me but after the treatment, the pain soon comes back.

Has anyone tried the Sonocur Treatment? If so,how has it helped? Also, what is the best pain reliever for tendon & lignment pain?

Okay. Still, seeing a PT may help so you may receive exercises specifically geared to take some stress off of tendons and cartilage. Wouldn’t hurt, right?

Have you tried taking a supplement of Glucosamine, Chrondroitin and MSM? That in itself may help relieve some of the discomfort. Give it 4 weeks to see some effect.

    Good luck.

    Thanks LeeLoo

I see what you are saying, but I’m 54 and have played most every sport ( except hockey) and have had my share of sports injuries. No bone problems, just mostly very worn tendons and cartlidge.I pitched baseball for years( fastball @ 92) and have run 50 miles a week for 30 years.

Most of my pain is from years & Years of use and the usual Wear & Tear.

Hi – I’ve never heard of a “Sonocur treament” but it sounds as if it’s maybe ultrasound? Ultrasound may be helpful as it is said to aid/speed healing, but there is no solid proof that it does or does not help. It has never done a lick of good for my injuries.

In any case, it sounds to me that you have not found the underlying cause(s) of your pain. Therefore, you take a potent anti-inflammatory (i.e. steroids) which seems to help but then the pain returns upon cessation of that medication. The cause of the pain still exists and the inflammatory process continues. A vicious cycle, is it not?

I would suggest you see a good, reputable sports medicine doctor – preferably one that specializes in running injuries – to get a diagnosis. Alternatively, you could go directly to a physical therapist to determine what biomechanical issues are going on, i.e. muscle imbalances, weaknesses, and get a good exercise program going to help your muscles get working to take the stress off of your tendons, ligaments, etc.

Bear in mind that you also may be performing weight lifting exercises 1) incorrectly or 2) with too much weight or 3) that are not working hand-in-hand to help your running, i.e. working AGAINST your body and your running.

Good luck!!! Hope you can find some answers.
