plnaterfasiatis and spurs

(2 discussions)

I have had one operation on my left foot for a spur and partial seperation of planerfacia. Still feel discomfort in foot on left foot but not pain from spur. Have now got ‘stone bruise’ pain in right foot. Am pre-primary teacher and on feet alot. Reflexologist suggested that cyatic nerve may be culprit, or may be problem with bone density. what is your opinion. Am at wits end. Feel 105 years old and only 40.

I highly doubt the sciatic nerve has anything to do with this..although it is possible. Well I’m biased when it comes to plantar fasciitis becasue I have treated so many of these successfully with Active Release. Watch this video for more infosensored Doc4bax? Anything to add?

I am not trained in active release but have heard many good things about it. I typically will clear any joint restrictions in the the ankle and foot and also use ultrasound to help PF. I typical prescribe custom molded orthotics to help correct any postural problems as well. This approach typically works for me depending on the severity of the case. Rolling your foot over a golf ball can help break adhesions, also using ICE helps. Cases with minimal or no reponse I refer over to the Podiatrist. I agree, it’s unlikely to be sciatica.
