sesamoid screw
Dr., I just saw a different doctor regarding my sesamoid fracture.
He is an orthopeadic surgeon who specializes in feet and ankles.
He is taking a different approach to me sesamoid fracture.
Instead of removing the bone he is going to pinch the two pieces together and insert a screw.
Do you know anything about this procedure?
thanks!

While I understand it in principle, I have not done this nor do I have any references to papers about this procedure. I would assume you would need to be non-weight bearing afterward. I wonder how the screw is inserted? Does any part of it interfere with the articulation at the metatarsal head? You might consider asking the doctor for more information, studies, how successful is this method?
