I have Cerebral palsy, which affects the left of my body In November of 1983, I underwent foot and ankle surgery,a Triple Arthrodesis of my foot and ankle.
When the cast was removed, I noticed right away there was a constant burning pain that ran from my foot to my knee, strangely it was only on the outer side of my leg.my doctor referred me to a neurosurgeon, who finally diagnosed me with causalgia in october of 1984.Recently my doctor sent me for a M.R.
I. of my ankle, and the results came showing that I have Osteopenia, and Osteochondritis Dissecans, degenerative bone changes, and a marginal Osteophyte formation, and also showed marrow signal abnormality in the Dome of the Talus anteriorly andabnormality in the adjacent subcortical tibia.Doctor are these new symptoms I mentioned are they symptoms of typical RSD OR Is something causing these new symptoms I have now, from my recent M.R.
I..looking forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you,Robert

The readings from your MRI are showing what I believe is an arthritic process. The doctor who sent you for the MRI should be able to review these findings with you. These findings can and do exist independant of RSD. Sudeck’s atophy is the term used for bone changes noted with RSD (which is now known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) is classically referred to as “spotty osteoporosis.”Talk to your doctor.
