Achilles Tendon

I contiune to get small micro tears or strains in my archilles tendon every 3 or 4 weeks when I run. I run on a compound track but run on my toes unfortunately. I stretch it out before and strenghten it as much as I can with toe lifts, but they still occur. After it happens, I have to take 7-10 days off from running. Would a heel cup help me.Thank-you.

Pulled Quad

(2 discussions)

I think I pulled my quad yesterday during a softball game. As I swung and started to run out of the battersbox, I felt like a snap on the top of my thigh, I actually stopped thinking someone threw something at me and hit me there. I can walk and lightly run with no pain, but when I swing hard or push off to run I feel pain. What should I do to treat this, I already iced it. How long should I expect to feel pain? when will I be back to near 100%?

When can I start rotator cuff rehab?

my doctor told me to do some stretching exercises for my rc injury as soon as I injured the muscle. is this a good idea?mind you that these are non-weighted exercises and I was wondering how much of them I should be doing.also when can I start doing weighted rehab like cuban rotation and dumb bell raises?my pain has improved dramatically since one week ago but I am still unable to put my arms in an overhead L position (as if you were going to squat) without pain.should I just COMPLETELY rest the shoulder? will doing these stretching exercises put strain on my shoulder that would further slow down the recovery process? thanks.

calcium deposit with patellar tendonitis

Hello, I am big into fitness and basketball as well. I’ve had knee problems since I was about 20 and now im 22. I had it diagnosed as chronic patellar tendonitis with calcium deposit. I received therapy, and it didn’t do a whole lot. I received some kind of treatment with electrodes and some type of liquid to penetrate and try and break up the calcium deposit. Neither techniques really did much for me. This was over a year ago and it seems lately like its getting worse and I’ve laid of lifting with my legs, and all I do is play basketball. I wear a patellar tendon strap to keep my knee from swelling when I play, but as soon as I take it off it swells like crazy. I really want to get this removed but I know nothing about scoping and any of that. Someone please let me know what can be done. and around how much time off am I gonna be lookin at here.. some people have told me this should be a fairly simple procedure. thank you for any advice u can give me.
