Popping of Hip and Shoulder

(3 discussions)

I have noticed that my shoulders pop every now and then when I do push ups or move my arm around in a weird positon, also my hip pops if I am sitting indian style or another wierd movement of my leg.
In the past it all started after I ran track in high school for a year, I ran alittle distance, hurdles and pole vault. What does this and why? Can I do anything to stop this from happening, Physical Therapy?? Thx, Ryan

achillies tendon

(2 discussions)

Hi, I recently was told that I have a partial rear in my achillies behind my calf. And that I should just ice it and keep stretching it out. I can bearly walk and I can not move it the way the Doc. wants me to. Do I need an MRI to determin the severity of the injury? One was not recommended. Should I be wearing a brace? Aircast? Thanks for your help. Chrissy

5th metatarsal rehab

I’ve seen several messages posted on thes break, however, I haven’t seen many replies. I was told NO WEIGHT on my foot for 6 weeks.
I had it casted, tried a boot and went back to a hard cast for stability.
I have put no weight on it. On 9/11 it comes off. Do you know what I should expect?
Will I be able to walk without crutches?
Is walking or weightbearing a good thing? Also I’d like to be able to drive my stick shift by then. Finally, do I need PT?

why do you people continue to address the symptom and not the cause of these sorts of problems . is it because you are unsure of how to find these problems or because there is more money in leading the patients on. address the cause not the symptom.

Quadricep injury

(2 discussions)

About 4-5 weeks ago I pulled my Quadricep playing soccer. The first time I pulled it I gave it a week and then played again. Then, you gusset it I pulled it again. So after that I took a vacation from all sports It’s been about 4 weeks now and last Saturday I went and played a small pick-up game to see if it was healed. I didn’t pull it but it does fell strained. Should I just take this as a good sign and keep stretching it? or should I give it a few more weeks?

calves/shins hurt so much it’s hard to walk

For the past seven – ten days, my lower legs (from the knee to the ankle) have hurt so much I can hardly stand.
When I walk, which I have always done quite a bit, every step hurts.
I want to constantly find a place to sit down. Can you tell me what this problem is and what I can do about it?
I wear Ecco or Mephisto walking shoes, with prescribed (i.e., fitted) orthodics in my shoes.
This does not seem to help.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
I don’t even know what doctor to go to for this problem.

Quick Hamstring Strain Problem

Hi all,My doctor said I suffered a grade 1 hamstring pull when I was playing baseball. I didn’t notice it during the game and played on and only after hours later did I feel a nagging pain. Because of my stupidity, I thought it was soreness just due to muscle fatigue and didn’t ice it.It’s been two weeks from then and I can walk without pain, but it’s uncomfortable going up stairs, standing and bending my knee back, and the worse pain is during crotching. I haven’t really done any exercising after the injury besides walking 10 minutes a day to work.My question is, should I begin stretching or should I let it rest more? Also, when should I begin to do strengthening exercises as well? Is ice also still effective at this point? Thanks
