sholder muscle pain

(3 discussions)

I have reoccuring sholder muscle pain in my right arm. I believe the original injury occured in September lifting a heavy object.
The pain seems to be agrivated when I use a computer mouse extensively or if I sleep with my arm extened over my head. The pain is alway present and fluctuates only based on activity. The muscle is visibly different between the 2 arms and slightly tender to the touch.
My questions are:
1. Is this an injury I need to see a Dr for?
2. Home treatment options I should consider?
3. Possible ideas as to what I should do? Thank you for your time and assitance.

torn bicep

I’ve been working out regularly and pretty hard for just over 2 months… About an hour after my work out today I was feeling my left bicep muscle, comparing it to my right, and I noticed it was soft, kinda mushy.. It does not hurt, however I pushed it pretty hard while working out,and I noticed it had some pain then.. I assumed I was just excercising extra hard..
Is this a symptom of anything?.. It does not hurt!..

ACL tear on right knee of 15 year old boy

My 15 year old son has a tear on his right knee.
He is a pitcher on baseball high school team.
He can still pitch and run.
He has trouble playing an outfield position when moving laterally.
Will surgery affect his growth on the injured leg vs the healthy leg?
Is it better to wait on surgery at his age?
Will a brace give him enough support to continue playing?
Will strengthening the hamstring and other leg muscles help to compensate for the injuried knee?

I need PT tips for Herniated Disc

Hi,I’m a grad student and my insurance doesn’t cover physical therapy. I herniated a disc in my lower back doing deadlifts and I was looking for some tips. I haven’t worked out in 3 months and the inflamation is down. I feel much better and there isn’t the constant pain anymore. What I would like are some exercise tips, particularly for safely increasing core strength while avoiding a recurrence. Thank you!

Piriformis Syndrome/Protonics Brace

(6 discussions)

Hello -I have been diagnosed with Piriformis Syndrome that has led to a chronic muscle contraction throughout my left leg.
My knee has twisted as a result, as has my foot.
I heard about a Protronics brace to stabilize the pelvis (my pelvis is constantly out of alignment).
I have no idea what the brace is or where to find one.
Would this be helpful for my condition?
I have been dealing with this for 7 years now with every kind of therapy possible and would love to be off pain pills.
Thank you.
