Protruding bone near ankle

For years a bone formation above my arch has progressively gotten worse on both of my feet. When I run on uneven surfaces and experience any instability while running, the bone becomes painful but not debilitating. I am somewhat bow-legged and wear out the outside of my running shoes in 100 miles. Could this be contributing to my problem? Any suggestions?

UNI-COMPARTMENTAL KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS

I have had an left knee arthroscopy November 29th 2014.Uni-compartmental osteoarthritis has been confirmed.
I suspect this would be the resultant of a compoundation of factors.Of recent years and now daily I have become greatly attuned to the problems of biomechanics of the foot that is specifically what is happening inside ones shoe/boot and ones gait.
I am not rich and therefore ready funds are not always available.
I have had Kellers on my left big toe.
The adjacent toe has some nerve conduction impairment for its shaft is now rigid and the proximal tip curling.
I suspect a ‘knock-on’ effect following the Kellers. Also present is a tibial bowing of the lower third and of late probably musclature I experience a sense of instability and am aware of the thinness of the lower third shaft.
Tracking was of the knee was initially remarked upon by a visiting physiotherapist I do visit periodically the nearby hospital but my regime is not working out well as I consider that machines will assist rather than me having to adhere to instructions that the mind is disinclined to follow although realising the necessity of doing some exercises daily.
This I do.BUT I DO NOT HAVE A BRACE AND BECAUSE I EXPERIENCE A KIND OF BURNING SENSATION ON THE SPOT WHERE THERE IS OSTEO AND I HAVE NO CAR BUT CYCLE EVERY DAY I THINK THAT so that I might allay further deterioration such that will comprise an intended operation for uni-compartmental I should have one.
Would this be correct.
I utilise crutches(plural) every day and I hope to be able to ice skate.
The engrams have not been installed and therefore if this be possible deliberate repetitions will have to be the order of the day.Of course this will be so many months ahead.
WHAT SHOULD I DO THEREFORE IN THE INTERIM PERIOD OF TIME TO ALLAY FURTHER SIGNIFICANT DETERIORATION OF MY LEFT KNEE.
I have had insoles prescribed for my pronation and I have them inserted into my boots that are sturdy and have had ‘rocker’ moulded onto them.PLEASE ADVISE.yours sincerely,GS JONESGraham Stanley Jones

Warm Feeling In Ankle

(2 discussions)

I keep getting this feeling in my ankle – it feels almost like somebody is putting warm water on the inner side, near the protruding ankle bone.
It only lasts a few seconds, and then goes away.
Sometimes I get this feeling very infrequently, but for the past few days, it has been happening maybe 50x per day.
It happens when sitting, walking, bike riding, relaxing with no discernable pattern.
It just feels very warm for a few moments, and then goes away.
It doesn’t hurt – it’s actually pleasant.
No weakness or swelling or anything.
I don’t think it’s actually warm to touch.
I’m not taking any medication except a prescription vitamin D supplement.
Any idea what it might be?

lost toe nail

I lost my 2 big toe nails last fall while training for a marathon.
I kept them clean and dry, the nails came off in the shower, and are growing back nicely.
My ?? is…they seem to be pushing at the tip of my toe, not growing over it like the previous nail did.
Is this normal?
Is there a danger they could become ingrown?

Fifth metatarsal?

(3 discussions)

A few days ago, while on vacation, someone stepped on the top of my foot, actually jumped on it – on a dance floor.
It was sore and bruised – I can walk but I tend to baby that side of the foot – it is in the area of the fifth metatarsal.
It is not nearly as sore as when it first happen and the swelling has gone down, sometimes I don’t feel any pain.
Only when I try to put on certain shoes that puts pressure on the injury.
Anyone had anything like this – I have not been to a dr yet.

Dislocated toe?

About 3 months ago I awoke to a pain in my next-to-big-toe, but it was mild. The pain has been mild on and off, but recently after a 4 hour walk, the toe is swollen and hard, and extremely tender to touch. I cannot put any pressure on it, and also experience excruciating pain when lifting that foot. I cannot flex the toe up or down. The walk was 48 hours ago) I have done some research and it seems to be symptoms of a dislocated toe-is it possible after this length of time to have it flare up now? How can it be fixed?

Re: Calcaneous Fracture

On 12/29 I was in an automobile accident and both of my feet were broken (right foot- ankle bone broken through skin, three fractures, and tendon damage left foot- eight fractures). I am suffering with numbness and tingling in the last two toes on my right foot. I cannot seem to find a comfort zone with this foot. Is this normal? My left foot tends to stay swollen more often than the right. Is there anything to do for the swelling other than elevation and ice? Trying to get the feet comfortable to sleep is no picnic. Is there any type of pillowed tool for the feet to relax with?

no padding on bottom of foot

I’ve been told by a podiatrist that I have very little padding on the bottom of my feet. The ball of my foot has a small fracture, and I need some kind of padding in most shoes. Can you recommend a pad, espcecially one that I can use in sandals?
thanks!
