Experience w/cracked vertebrae recovery?

I just got back my x-ray showing a fracture (crack) in one of my thoracic vertabrae from a moutain biking accident. THe physician has not yet specified which, but it is one of the upper few. At this point, I have been told that I will not need any surgery. My symptoms are point pain on the vertabrae, some minor tingling in my left few toes and left few fingers. I am scheduled for a bone scan on June 19. Has anyone suffered from this? What is the expected recovery time? Will the tingling go away soon? Is there possibility of more damage that is nerve related? Are there any other steps I should have my physician take? We have not talked about nerve damage. Any advice?
