I HAVE BROKEN MY FIBIA AT MY ANKLE AND HAVE BEEN IN A CAST FOR 4 WEEKS.
I AM STILL FEELING ALOT OF DISCOMFORT AND PAIN WITH THIS CAN YOU GIVE ME ANY ADVICE ON HOW I CAN HELP WITH THE HEALING PROCESS.
I broke my fibia at the ankle also and have had surgery and been in a cast a little over a month. I am not really feeling any discomfort any longer. The best advice I was given was to keep it elevated above the level of your heart so the blood keeps circulating. It sound like it might not make a difference but it really does. Whenever I would be in the car or in the sitting position for more than an hour at a time, I would notice that I soon as I layed down and problem was solved and it was like instant relief. I was given pain medicine, but you also have to remember to take motrin to reduce the swelling whick is also a big pain issue.
