Nerve blocks and Piriformis Syndrome

I have been suffering with a hip/lower back injury for nearly a year. Physio has taken it so far, but I’m still uncomfortable when sitting and can no longer manage any decent stretching routines. My physiotherapist has suggested Piriformis Syndrome as a possibility, and what I’ve read seems to fit. An MRI scan showed nothing but the Doc mentioned a Nerve Block as an option. Has anyone tried a nerve block or had any experience of Piriformis trouble? All info welcomed.

    Hi,
I have suffered of PS or “something” for nearly three years. I have not yet got a proper diagnosis. I have done every test and block in the text book, and the only thing seems to work. It’s the nerve root block!! It started in the “butt”, and then went down the hamstring, then over to right butt and down that leg. It seems like an ongoing pain. I’m now waiting to be scheduled for a nerve root block with steroids in. I would try that if I were you!
