Pain in leg & foot alseep

About 4 weeks ago I woke up with my left foot asleep and it stayed that way for quite a few hours.
I tried to walk my dog but it was very difficult.
The next day the front of my left leg hurt when I tried to walk and my foot still felt like it was asleep.
The pain got worse and worse til it was getting very difficult to walk.
I am a thin fit person, I ran for about 10 years, had to give it up due to arthritis, starting speed walking instead.
Went to the orthopedic he sent me to a nerve Doctor to be tested.
He said there was a little something going on on the left side down from my knee.
Went back to the orthopedic, he wanted me to be tested for diabetes.
Got tested, my blood was perfect.
Due to go back to the orthopedic in about a week.
They gave me an anti-seizure medicine for the pain and it takes the edge off but not completely.
I am still walking as if I have a club foot and the top of my left foot is numb as if it were asleep.
Both the orhopedic and my physician said it may be coming from the arthristis in my spine.
De-generative was discovered this past year.
More painful some days than others.
But, oddly enough I had a hernia operation done 2 weeks ago and since my back has not bothered me at all.
These symptoms with my leg and foot started before the hernia operation.
This is getting scarey.
I am a 48 year old male, active, and have been all my life.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Pain/inflammation/swelling in ball of left big toe

I noticed some tenderness a week ago, and then just yesterday there was severe swelling, but no heat as in inflammation caused by gout.
I have absolutely no idea how I might have injured by foot.
I cannot put pressure on the ball of my foot under my big toe, and it continues to swell.
The doctor has taken an x-ray, but I can’t understand how I could have injured it without kicking something.
Any suggestions or clues?
Thank you.

side hip pain, hip bone tenderness

Hi. I had been running fine, 6-10 milers.
I took off a week and a half and went for a 5 miler. Nearing the end, I turned an inside corner and felt a small “pop” in the side of my hip.
Then a sharpish pain.
It’s been a dull ache since contained on the side of my right hip.
I ran once more and it hurt more, so I took off another week and but it still aches.
Is it mroe rest and strengthening needed, or should I see a doc? Thanks for any help. –Tony

heel fracture

I broke both my heels falling down the stairs,I’m only 40.
I had no surgery, was non dislocated, but wore casts 12 weeks non weight bearing. I go to physical therapy next week, I started using a walker taking a few steps about 4 days ago. My question is when I take a few steps it really hurts, it feels like you have deep bruises. Is this pain normal and when does it start getting better? Also do I continue walking with the pain until I can’t bare it and sit down? Thank You!!!!!

Ruptured Tendon?

(2 discussions)

I have been experiencing problems with my arms for around 1 and 1/2 years now.
The symptoms started with my elbows grinding when they were extended. A number of tests were undertaken and came back clear.
Since then (about 1 year) my arms have worsened.
I experience aching and stinging pain around the elbow and my arms are considerably weaker. Recently my movement has become restricted when reaching or rotating the shoulder joints. Also my biceps seem to shudder when extended as well as twitch constantly.
Have you seen these symptoms before and if so could you please recommend some treatment.
Thank you

Plantar Fasciitis & Capsuliitis In the Same Foot

I am really struggling with my right foot.
I started with plantar faciitis and used “off the rack” inserts which improved the condition but I feel actually put too much pressure on the ball of my foot which resulted in capsuliitis.
What can I do to improve these conditions?
I’m taking Viox.
Stretching for the plantar faciitis seems to aggravate the capsuliitis.
My podiatrist is leary of using a coritsone injection in the joint.
The second toe is stiff and somewhat rigid with knots.
I would appreciate any ideas.

rolling heel

I have great pain in my ankle when I stand or walk. The doctor said that my heel rolls over and comes under the ankle bone. I have had orthopedic shoes with a brace made. He said if the brace did not help(it has not helped) he would do surgery and put a pin up in the heel to hold the ankle in place.
I have looked on the internet for this type of surgery and cannot find it. Do you have an opinion on this type of surgeryI have some arthritis in my ankle also.
