Tennis elbow

for about the past six months i have been having pain in my left forearm. Specifically, I have a tender spot on the bony part of elbow, but when I grip anything of any weight and move my arm, i get sharp pain around the upper inner side of my forearm and deep inside the lower inner side of forearm half way between my wrist and elbow.

I can put pressure against any point of my forearm and do curls or move in any direction without pain, but the minute I grab something with my hand, or put resistance against my wrist moving upwards or sideways towards the thumb it kills me. I can put resistance against wrist in a downwards position or moving sideways in an outward position without pain. wierd.

By the way, I have no idea what i had done to injure my arm. I do not lift weights or anything like that. I am an aircraft mechanic but mostly use my right arm and at the time hadnt turned wrenches in a few months.

anyways…after about 2 months i went to the doc, he told me after about 30 seconds i had tennis elbow to rest and take an anti-inflamatory and come back if it continues. i went back and now going through PT where they do the electro-shock steroid treatment, with ultrasound, deep massage and ice treatment. after almost 3 months of that I still do not have relief. My pain a couple of weeks agi finally started to deminish some after doping up on a ton of motrin so my PT started me on strengthing. the little bit of the machine i did (curls, gripping, push/pull simulation), it started killing me again. so basically i am right back where i started. PTist thinks i may be misdiagnosed and may have a torn muscle somewhere since it reinjured so easily after alittle workout.

I am trying to get some other ideas, or peoples experiences to see what may be wrong. I am going to try to request an MRI within the next few weeks.

Thanks for any inputs.
