Burning and achy sensation in back

(4 discussions)

I am getting a burning sensation in my lower back along with back pain, not a real bad pain just like achiness.
I am also having a constant pain in my neck. this has been getting worse with noth to where having it once in awhile leads to everyday.
I also once a month will get a terrible back pain that will wrap around to my stomach and even makes me feel fatigue.
I went to the Dr and she does not know, she just gave me pain pills for the pain .
I am feeling like something is seriously wrong cause it does not go away and the pain I am use to but now the burning is bothering me . Can you please tell me the reason.

Periformis Syndrome

During my last pregnancy I suffered the above to the extent that I was in hospital for weeks on morphine and induced a month early to ease the pain.
I was on crutches from 4 months and wearing a back support. The pain disappeared shortly after the baby was born. However, as the pain began before the baby was a great weight, I was told that it was probably nothing to do with pregnancy and more likely related to lifting and handling as I worked on a geriatric ward in hospital.
I therefore felt it safe to have another baby.
I am now four months pregnant and it has started again.
I have four young children and really don’t want to be going into hospital again or drugged up to the eyeballs. Do you have any suggestions (aside from never getting pregnant again!)?

Broken Pinky

How can you tell if your pinky is broke. I don’t know if it’s jammed or broke. It is swelled up and has a redish purple tint under the middle joint but when you touch it doesn’t hurt. I have pretty good movement witht the finger with a liltle pain. When you squeeze the sides of the knuckle it hurts. What are some ways to keep the pain and swelling down. I have already iced it down for 20 minutes. Help would be much appreciated.

Vagus Nerve

Hi, I’m experiencing unusual symptoms that I’m wondering if could be due to an issue with my vagus nerve.
I have severe heart palpatations, nausea, headaches, and some G. I related issues.
The nausea comes a lot after eating and after moving my neck to blow dry my hair for example.
Is it possible that vagus nerve treatment could relieve this?

fulkerson osteotomy

(2 discussions)

I had a fulkerson osteotomy 8 weeks ago, along with microfracture of a trochlea lesion.
I am having trouble with severe pain at the screw site and radiating down the tibia.
I am also having a severe pinching at the top of my calf almost behind the screws.
The pain is keeping the quad from kicking in (although I am riding the exercise bike 3 times a day and doing quad sets).
My PT office has never seen my procedure, my doctor is 2 hrs away and I feel like I am battling this blind with no help. Any suggestions or insight are appreciated, as my pain is horrendous with weight-bearing. Thanks.

Syatic Nerve

I was injured in a cheerleading accident when another person fell from the stunt and landed in the pocket of my lunge, putting my leg out of joint.
This injury occurred over 10 years ago and for the past two years I have been experiencing problems with my leg continually popping out of joint. Now it has progressed to what has been described to me by a nurse as a pinched syatic nerve.
When I am working, lifting, walking, or just sitting on the couch, I get a sharp piercing pain in the middle of my right butt cheek that feels as though someone is stabbing an ice pick straight into my cheek and it travels down my leg.
When this happens, I cannot put weight on my leg or sometimes it draws my leg until I cannot even stand on it.
When it locks up, all that I can do is bear it until the pain passes.
I used to see a chiropractor years ago for a whiplash I received in an automobile accident, until the whiplash was corrected between another accident and treatment. Other than seeking treatment, is there anything that I can do to ease, or fix the problem.
I was wondering if there is any stretching or exercise that will help with the leg going out of joint and the piercing pain in my leg and butt cheek. Any suggestions you can offer will be much appreciated.
Thank you so much.

5th metatarsal fracture

(2 discussions)

July 22 I broke the 5th metatarsal bone.
I walked on it for two weeks before I went to a Dr.
It is not a Jones fracture, the displaced fracture is about midbone.
I was put in a walking cast and told I could take it off at night.
I wasn’t told NOT to walk on it so I have walked on the cast since the beginning ( have used a crutch).
I have had it on for 6 weeks.
My x-rays this morning showed minimal healing.
I am to wear the cast for another 4 weeks and then come back for more x-rays.
I asked if I could still walk on the cast and was told I could.
I am a 63 year old female and am wondering what my chances are that this break will heal on it’s own.
I might add, the bones did seem to be more in alignment than they were when they were first x-rayed.

Achilles heal-re rupture

Approx. four weeks ago I ruptured my achilles heal playing basketball..my doc. recommended surgery.
Five days post opt. I lost my balance and re-tore the tendon 4 cm.
After going back into surgery I am now 10 days post opt.
My question is: this morning I again lost my balance and applied a small amount of pressue on the bad leg and now I am experiancing pain.
What are the chances 10 days post opt. that the tendon is once again torn?
I have been bed ridden for the past 4 weeks and have followed all the rules.
I just want to know when the tendon starts repairing itself enough be out of the “red” zone and subject to another injury.

Heel Pain

I have something growing out of my heal. It is hard and circular in shape it is white in color and it hurts like a son of a gun. I have learned to walk without putting my heal down, but even so I think it may be hitting a nerve or something because sometimes even when I am lying in bed it will feel like I am being shocked with electricity in my heal. Please help I’m not sure what this is…. can you give me an idea of what this may be?
