I sat down and crossed my left foot over my right knee and on the inside side of the heel there is a hot sensation, a lump that has grown quite quickly over the past half-hour and massive pain. No tingling in my toes, the rest of the foot seems fine. I am in much pain. I cannot describe. Please Help!

Achilles Tendon Rupture – Limited Open Repair

Anyone familiar with Limited Open Repair techniques of Achilles Tendon Rupture?
I found an article about a technique where they use a guiding instrument for suturing, and this decreases chances of any of the risk associated with suregery.
I ruptured my Achilles 5-days ago and contemplating surgery vs. non-surgery treatment.

numbness, tingling in baby toe and along bottom half of right foot

(2 discussions)

hi I hope you can help me.
i am 41 years old, female, and in general good health.
yesterday I was walking around barefoot as per usual in my home doing nothing out of the ordinary when very slowly I noticed the onset of a tingling feeling in my baby toe and the 2 toes next to it and also along 1/2 of the bottom of my right foot near the baby toe.
this started slowly and then progressed to a numbness to the point where I can’t feel my toes or bottom of my foot even when walking.
when I touch my toes I feel a wooden feeling.
i can feel them being touched but as if only on the very surface, for instance, as if there were callouses touching each other.
there is a spongy feel to my foot when I walk and now today it feels as if that tingling feeling is spreading up my leg.
What could this be?please help ASAP as I have 2 small children to take care of and am finding this to be a hindrance to their care.

knee pain

the other day I jumped off the couch and landed wrong and hit the floor quick. it was so painful! I couldn’t stretch out my knee and it locked up on me I couldn’t bear weight on it and that lasted for about 3-4 days. I thought the swelling and pain would go away but it seems as if I cannot straighten my leg out fully and when I walk on it more than 30 minutes straight it becomes so painful that I don’t want to walk anymore and it begins to swell up again. i’ve had a previous tear of my acl and had acl reconstruction done in 2012 I don’t think it’s my acl so what do you all think it could be?

shin splints

Hello,
I recently started up walking again and felt ready to start up a light jogging program.
I try to warm up by walking two laps then start jogging for two or three laps and then return to walking as a cool down period.
What I have experienced is pain in my shin area immediately after jogging.
The final walking laps are done in pain but I do not stop until I complete my cycle.
I thought I was in need of a new pair or jogging shoes so I purchased a pair or Oasics.
They did not help and I returned them and got some Brooks that were recommended from a guy at Road Runner Shoe store in San Diego. Again they did not help.
So now I do not know what to do. New shoes or what?
I want to continue jogging as I have enjoyed it in the past but I dread the pain.
Please reply with some advice.
Thanks! P.S I am 44 years old and have been an active person.
People tell me its my age! How depressing!
I sure hope not!!!!!!!!!!

Itchy Feet

I often get very itchy feet where the soles and ankles get these lumps (red aroung outside and white in the middle) and are very itchy. It does not get itchy between my toes.
It usually happens bilaterally. It takes about 12 hours or more to go away. It is impossible to sleep when it is like this.
My feet don’t sweat much at all.
Could it be due to tiredness, dehydration, being on my feet for a long period of time or something else?
Is there anything to help?
