post broken fibula pain

in 1989, i broke my fibula 2 times while skateboarding. the first break was secured by a 4-6 inch metal plate, and 5 or 6 screws. the second break occured while the hardware from the first break was in place, only this time there were some complications with tendons. they fixed it with a longer plate. the plate is still in my leg, and i sometimes experience a dull pain, that i can walk off within about an hour. it’s like a feeling of fatigue. i’m wondering if i should have the hardware removed, and have regular ex-rays. i’m still skateboarding 3-4 days per week, and am worried about a re-injury due to improper treatment (on my part). is there anything i should do to keep my fibula in shape and strong? thanks, ryan crase

  1. Yeah, I’m having hte same problems, I don’t know if it’s normal and I should just learn to live with it, or if there are some treatments that will help it out.
