Tendonitis

About nine months ago, I started having all sorts of tendonitis problems.
I am 27 now and have been very active since I can remember.
I was running about 15-20 miles a week, playing basketball once to twice, and lifting weights about five days. It started with Achilles tendonitis during the summer.
I tried to ignore it, but it eventually reached the point where I had to hobble away from a basketball game in August.
I started physical therapy. No immediate results.
Went back to the doctor’s in December with shoulder AND achilles pain. Diagnosis was bicep tendonitis and achilles tendonitis.
Said tendonitis was caused by my biomechanics (over pronating I believe). Gave me some off-the-shelf inserts for my shoes.
Said if they worked, I may want to consider seeing a Podiatrist.More physical therapy, and added accupuncture, anti-inflammatories, and supplements of Chondroiten, Glucosamine, MSM, and B-12.Worked my way back slowly, first running on a tread mill mixed with stationary bike, light weights, lots of stretching.
I followed every work from the docs and trainers.
Saw a Podiatrist and we ordered custom orthotics.Soon there after, I developed patella tendonitis . Not sure if it was flared up from running or light leg lifting. I’ve had light tendonitis in my knees before from hoops, every once in awhile since high school. never like this though!I’ve stopped the lifting for legs.
Still stretching alot.
I’m running a little bit (couple miles here and there), and riding a stationary bike.
The knee pain can get pretty agonizing the day after working out.
Sometimes, there’s no pain though.
I bought a patella tendonitis strap to alleviate my pain from the running.
I had tennis elbow about 5 years ago from raquetball, bought an elbow strap, pain went away.
I figured same should work for my knee.
However, the strap slips down when I run and doesn’t support the cap.So, can all these recent problems with tendonits be linked to a common catalyst?
Something that could have been in my diet or a change in lifestyle that could cause my tendons to become easily irritated? Also, any recommendations to improve my training?Any better patella tendonitis straps that I should consider? The one I’m using is like the Cho Pat strap, except with a gel area that applies pressure to the tendon. This is beginning to feel like a never ending battle.
I just want to be back running, playing ball, and training like I was. . . . Any and all advice is deeply appreciated,Brandon
