Is there an alternative procedure for a torn miniscus in the knee beside orthoscopic surgery which my doctor has recommended after looking at my MRI?

I have to go for an MRI yet, My doctor thinks I have a tear in my miniscus in my right knee, My job requires alot of walking, is that ok if I do have a torn knee miniscus? I feel ok when I walk except it aches and I can’t bend it that much, and when I stop and rest it I put heat on it, but after resting it for a while it almost feels like when I get up that it is going to lock up or give out on me when I first stand up. I also have fluid all around the kneecap, can you give me some advise? I am still working till I get my MRI.

are there any specific activities that would make the miniscus tear worse/better? any athletic pursits that are “ridiculous” with a torn miniscus?

i have suspected torn knee miniscus in my right knee – my specialist recommends that I undergo a arthroscopy which will confirm diagnosis and if confirmed a repair can be done at the same time. I also experience tenderness in the muscles and tendons of the top of the thigh. Is this related ?david upfal

My torn knee meniscus is bothering me today. I went to a yoga class last night and the instructor had flexing the knee more than usual. Also, the weather is changing, I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. What type of relief can I do to help the pain.
