Boney lump below ankle bone

I have a large lump below and forward of my ankle bone on the outside of my foot. I have been to the doctor and had it xrayed, the xray showed no fracture and the doctor couldn’t really explain it.

I twent over on my ankle about 6 months ago and the solid lump won’t go away, I’ve tried ice, compression and even heat. It looks quite scary – like a second ankle bone.

The doctor said the only similar thing she had seen was when someone broke their collar bone and a solid lump appeared over the break as part of the healing process.

Any ideas?
