Chronic lower back sprain

I’ve been seeing a chiropractor for 7 months. It has gotten a lot better but I would think that at 7 months I should be “healed”. I’m 27 and still really scared I feel as though my life as I knew it was over and I’m going to have to live in chronic pain forever. Am I being silly? I have gotten MRIs and they are clean. My GP suggested a chiropractor. How long do these things take?

For the past few days, I’ve had popping in my neck when I turn it all directions. It’s not painful but rather very annoying. Do you have any idea what it can be and if it will go away? Thanks!

SI joint

(13 discussions)

I suffered a severe sprain locked upslip of the right SI joint in 9/00.
Workup was extensive (MRI, bone scan, EMG, many sets of X-Rays). Elimated lumbar problems.
I went through PT and could not seem to mobilize the joint.
I had sciatica going down my right leg and a burn over the right SI/hip/femur. I decided to try chiro.
THIS MADE THE SITUAION WORSE!! These forced manipulations caused both of my joints to become hypermobile.
They “click/clank/cluck” and make horrible sounds. Now, I have more problems than I began with — unstable SIJ’s, unstable pelvis, unstable lower lumbar. The ligaments were likely torn from the original injury and now I surgery is my only choice. Bi-lateral SIJ injection of cortesone into the joints proved them as the source of pain (it went away for a day). I BEG YOU DO NOT SEE A CHIROPRACTOR IF FOR SI JOINT PROBLEMS.
IT MADE MY SITUATION WORSE!!!
I LIVE ON NUMEROUS PAIN MEDICATIONS AND CAN NO LONGER WORK.
I AM ONLY 25 YEARS OLD.
WARNING — DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!!See a highly sophisticated Sports Medicine Dr. and then a highly trained PT who concentrates on Pelvic problems.

Upper to middle back pain and Sturnum pain

I play music for a living (guitar and a harmonica rack like Dylan or Neil Young use).
My neck is always bent down in an awkward position (while playing harmonica) and my arms are wrapped around a guitar many hours each week. After years of playing I am now having problems with mid to upper back pain and pain in my sturnum.
I understand the upper back pain, but the pain in my sturnum is confusing.
I’ve been told that this is all related. My Chiropractor has me on the “Cox Technique”. and I stretch and work out daily. Do you have any suggestions?I’m mainly concerned with this sturnum pain.
I feel it mostly in the morning and it seems to fade away after I shower and stretch.
Thanks. TB

Lower back pain.

4 years ago I had an MRI done b/c of low back pain which read:Mild DDD L5-S1.
MIld acquired spinal stenosis So as a result the Dr put me on Anti Inflamatorys.Last month had an other MRI done b/c of resent worsening symptoms which read:There is mild dessication of the nucleus of the L5-S1 disc and there is a tiny annular tear to the right of the midline.
There is a relatively mild broad based central disc proapse.
This contacts the thecal sac, but does not significantly compress the nerve roots. There does not appear to be significant central spinal stenosis at this level.my symptoms: Pain in lower back almost daily at 3/10 in intensity. And flare ups of 9/10 at irregular intervals sometimes weeks or months that resolve aftera day or two.
