Pain in my rear end
About 7 weeks ago, I did a hard bike ride. The next day, I had a deep soreness in my right glute. After that, I took a few days off, stretched it, but it still felt “weird”. I did a 1/2 Ironman about two weeks later. No major pain during the race, but my legs just felt weird. Took a week off afterwards and had a continual aching in my right glute. Also, there was a soreness between my butt & leg (where the hamstring attaches?)- it felt tight as I bent over towards my toe. Visited my sports chiropractor/masseuse and he did active release on it and deep massage. He said it was probably an inflammation of the gemelli that was placing pressure on a nerve causing the tightness down my leg. Great analysis, but still with a lot of strecthing it has not gone away. Mostly seems to hurt when I am sitting. Also, tried running a few times and about 25 minutes into it, my lower calf (not really the achilles I think) in my right leg starts to hurt and then gets sore. I can bike & swim with no problem. For awhile, it hurt to sit on my bike but I changed my seat position and that made a world of difference. Oh, I switched from my road bike to my mountain bike right before this happened. I know it is all related, but can’t figure out what this is or how to get rid of it. Stretching feels good, but the pain is still there deep inside the middle of the right glute. I don’t think it is sciatica or piriformis syndrome. Any ideas????
