Pinky Toe Deformity/ Tight Tendon
Hi!
I lovingly inherited my grandmother’s pinky toe that is shorter than the other toes, flat and crosses over the 4th toe.
I was once told, by a podiatrist, that the only thing wrong is that I have a shortened tendon or a tight tendon that could be cut to let the toe lay in line with the others.
I am beginning to have some foot pain that may be related to overcompensating in my gait.
Do you know about this condition and what do you recommend?
If I do elect to have surgery, do you know of a good surgeon in the Chicago area?

If you have a managed care plan, you might check your plan's website for podiatrists on your plan. You might consider asking your primary care doctor or friends for a referral. You can also go to the American Podiatric Medical Association website (apma.org) or the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (acfas.org) and look for a podiatrist in your area
