patella fracture

(5 discussions)

why does it take so long for the patella to heal? most bones take 4-6 or 6-8 weeks to heal. Why is the knee cap any different? I recently had a patella injury, and I heard one of my favorite basketball players had a patella injury also, and I was just wondering why it takes so long to get back to normal and does a fractured patella affect my speed, virticle jump or my agility in the future?

broken heel

I fell off a ladder 6 days ago and am waiting for the swelling to go down still…. I didn’t elevate it properly for the first 3 days so I see why it is still swollen….Now That I am elevating it, it seems to be getting a little better… however, if I get up to go to the bathroom, I can feel an instant rush to the area and severe pain sets in…. When I elevate again it gets better….. I am concerned of maybe “Compartment Syndrome” is the problem… I know this can be serious!! Any suggestions!?? My doctor wont be back for 3 days….

My left foot is the worst and my left knee is now bothering me, which I think are related. Is there a special shoe and/or insert that you would recommend?

collar bone

(2 discussions)

My other ½ broke his collar bone snow boarding. He has received treatment at a military hospital & is on T 3”s & diclofenac SR 75mg. He also has a clavicle brace. I saw the x-rays & the bone is broken with a good ½ inch gap & what appears to be a free floating piece of bone. They want him to wait 10 days then if it hasn’t started to knit they’re talking pins.My question….. Why the wait? Its extremely obvious that this isn’t going to heal on its own.Experiences anyone?
