I fractured my fibula about 7 weeks ago and just had my plaster cast removed yesterday.
I was surprised to see how swollen my ankle area still is once they took off the cast.
Is the swelling normal and how long will it be until the swelling starts to go down? Thanks for your help

I play competetive soccer and have had recurrent ankle sprains.
My question is do the ankle braces, like the lace up ones work in preventing an injury really well or not.
I tape my ankle right now so that I can’t roll it again and so which ankle support is the best for that, price not a factor.

My 15 year old son broke his elbow in football.
He had a cast on for 4 weeks and started physical therapy after that.
He has attended physical therapy 2-3 times a week for close to 2 months now.
The measurements show improvement with extension and some with flexing but not great.
The orthopedic specialist says he is young and will get close to 90% or more range of motion back. All I see is a bent arm that does not look the way it used to. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on this?
I injured my right arm just above the elbow at work Dec.10,2014. As I was closing the freezer door, I lodged my arm I guess just above the elbow, between the freezer door and a stationary rack.
It happened so fast I fell to the floor.
I’ve had EMG/nerve study and two MRI’s(one of the shoulder and one of the elbow. The EMG stated everything seemed fine, but the MRI’s showed that I have a tear in my rotator cup about 4mm. Doctor said I was going to need surgery.
Went to orthopedic surgeon and said there was nothing he could do for me.
Where do I go from here?
I am tired of being in pain!
I’m tired of taking pain pills!

Can screws in the knee (after maquet/fulkerson) cause the knee to give out? Even when the patient is back playing active sports (running cycling and tenniswith a brace? Quads are almost back to normal, with brace no problem, without the brace knee has to be hyperextended or it gives out. Please your opinion. TIA Jess

Read More My husband and a worker fell off a roof(the other guy fell on him)last Thursday, they both landed on a stack of plywood. Anyway, Monday we took him to the emergency room, the doctor tolf him there is nothing he could do about it. My concern is that they did not even perform any x-rays. I can hear the bones crack every time he moves and he also grabs his chest as if his sternum could have been damaged.
If I am not mistaken that could cause bruising to his heart. How do we know if one of his ribs may be causing internal damage? We called the orthopedic in the area, and he stated they did not treat broken ribs. Where do we go from here? Any suggestions? One more thing,how long does it take for this type of injury heal?
I went to hiking and aprian my ankle. After three days, I went to see the doctor. He took X-ray and told me there is a hairline fracture at my ankle. I have been using the crutches and aircast for three weeks . It is still hirting.Sometimes my foot get swellon worth.How long could I recover? Thanks!
