Physical Therapy for Drop Foot
I experienced drop foot as a result of hip replacement surgery on 3/14/07. I would like to hear about any physical therapy activities that any of you have used and whether they were of help to you. I have been given water therapy, which did not help the foot. Two therapists told me they “weren’t familiar” with drop foot and suggested that if the nerve was too damaged to receive the signal, there wasn’t much that could be done about it. Electrical stim, AC and DC were also tried, but did not show any results. Please tell me what, if anything, was prescribed for you.

Sorry to say that it sounds like you have fairly significant nerve damage. If estim cannot elicit a muscle contraction to the effected muscle then it's fairly damaged. Do you have a ankle brace (AFO) to keep your ankle in neutral as you walk?
