Inner Knee (MDL or not ?)

Hi All,

I’ve hurt my knee, but from the info I’ve found on the net am not convinced it’s the Medial Ligament.

It happened suddenly while cycling, the inner back knee suddenly got warm and then very painful within a matter of seconds. Almost like an ITB strain, but on the inside.

Anyway I can narrow down what it is ? (I’m out of town and can only get to my Doc late next week.)

Thanks in advance.

Pain at patellar tendon insertion on tibia

(3 discussions)

Happened during a weekend session of weightlifting. I was doing weighted lunges where I set my stance and then lower myself (instead of started from a standing position and stepping out). Anyway, i can feel the tender spot when my leg is extended, my patellar tendon is relaxed and I press on that protrusion on top of the tibia. Is this tendonitis or is it just a strain? Any treatment tips?

thanks

Extreme pain shins

Hi, i’m looking for some advice. Five or so years ago i started getting severe pains in both my legs in the shin area. I had been playing football 8 days a week. My doctors firt diagnosis was stress fractures on both shin bones. I had orthotics custom made for my shoes. Every spring i try to resume training but the problem still seems to persist. I returned to my doctor last summer to try and get to the root of the problem once and for all. This time he sent me for an MRI scan, the results of which came back clear. I am very confused as i am still suffering the pain. My doctor says that i have 2 options. (i) play through the pain, (ii) surgery, but he doesn’t recommend the latter. is surgery the answer? do i need to change my doctor?

Snowboarding jumps killing my outer shin

Wondering if I should get this checked out…whenever I land jumps, my outer right shin hurts. It’s sensitive to touch too. Happened all last season, started up again about a month ago. Pains getting worse..seems to not hurt when I’m not snowboarding. Should I get it checked or tough it out again this season?

Inside knee pain after only 5 training runs!

(2 discussions)

I have pain in both knees in the inner joint only when I run. Walking is ok and so is after the training session.

I have just started training for a local 10K and I experienced quite a bit of pain during my last walk/run training during the running portion only. I have used my new shoes for 3 of the 5 trainings and the last one was the training with pain.

Could it be my new shoes? I was told by the sales girl that I pronate but not too badly. I am also heavy but I have never had knee problems in the past when I was a more active athlete. Is there anything I can do before too long? I’d like to continue training. I appreciate anyone’s response.

Achilles rupture surgery questions

(2 discussions)

Hi all. I ruptured my achilles a couple days ago and I’m scheduled for surgery this Friday.
I’ve read quite a bit about what’s happened and what’s done during the surgery, but not much about the surgery.
I’ll admit it, I’m a whimp when it comes to doctors! I haven’t had any surgery before, still have my wisdom teeth.
Can anyone explain what happens from a general standpoint? What type of anesthesia is used? If it’s general, does this consist of a tube down the throat? Can it be done with local anesthesia?
Thanks for any calming support.
Eric

Possible muscle strain

(6 discussions)

Hi,

I injured myself around 4 months ago during a weight training session. I was doing dumbell presses with heavy weight and as I tried to lift the weight, I suddenly felt wierd muscle movement on the left hand side of my upper back, just below the shoulder. There was no pain what so ever. I carried on training for atleast a week before I started feeling pain in that muscle. It was not constant pain, but kind of soreness which I only felt if I pressed the muscle or stretched my back. Since that time I have not trained or done any exercise because even if I stretch my back a little bit or lift a heavy weight, the injury becomes “fresh” either later on during the day or I can feel the effects the next morning.
If this was a muscle strain then how come it has still not healed after 4 months? Could it be due to the fact that I made it worst by training for a week after the injury (unkowingly).
The “soreness” feeling isn’t now as bad as it was in the first two weeks but it is still there every day.
Any suggestions about what this could be and what can I do?
Thank you!

Help hip pain!!!!

(2 discussions)

I have pain on my hip that hurts to touch and when i sit and get up it hurts. I can’t run and when I walk for more than 2k it starts to hurt again. I have seen a PT and she says that my sacroiliac joint is sprained due to a fall I had and I had this same injury before. The pain before was in my lower back and radiated down my legs not in my hip like this!!I am thinking about getting cortisone injection as strengthening and stretching is not working!! Anybody have suggestions on what this pain is and the right way to treat it??!!!!
